STAR+PLUS Medicaid Program to Expand Statewide
On May 29th and 30th Ability Connection Texas hosted a presentation by Debbie Little Smith of Texas HHSC to inform ACT clients, their families and caregivers about the STAR+PLUS program expansion. On September 1st of this year, the STAR+PLUS Medicaid managed care program will expand to the Medicaid rural service areas and become available statewide. With this expansion, most people covered by Medicaid who are elderly or who have a disability will get their basic medical services (doctor visits, hospital visits, prescriptions), long-term services and supports, and service coordination through a STAR+PLUS managed care health plan.
The following video of the presentation made on May 29th provides basic information about the STAR+PLUS program expansion so that viewers can prepare for the changes that will affect them.
