NEW! C.O.R.E. Dimensions Youth Skills Camp

Ability Connection is pleased to be partnering with Capable Minds, Hearts & Hands: The Potter’s House IDD Outreach to bring families new Youth Skills Camps in rotating Dallas County locations in July.  To participate in a Skills Camp, children must reside in Dallas County and be 10-17 years of age.

The C.O.R.E. (Communication, Organization, Responsibility, Empathy) Dimensions Skills Camp provides academic and support to students receiving special education services and is available to students ages 10-17 in Dallas County. The skills camp facilitators, in cooperation with the program sponsors, support the use of appropriate accommodations and reinforces familiar concepts presented in the general education classroom and at home. The camp provides support in the areas of communication (verbal and non-verbal), socialization, and general life skills.

Students will participate in various experiential and fun Learning Labs. The emphasis is to improve developmental, communication, social, pre-vocational, and functional life skills to facilitate independent living as each student matures into adulthood.
