Youth Services: Parents’ Time Off Programs

We know taking care of a child with disabilities can be difficult if you don’t take the time to relax and rewind occasionally. That’s why we offer parents time off programs, so you can take some time off while your child is cared for in a safe and fun environment. We’ve done our best to make our programs flexible to meet the needs of nearly any schedule. So, give yourself the gift of time to take a breath, read a book, do some shopping, or get a massage!
Register for a time that works best for you – because YOU deserve it!

In-Home Assistance

Ability Connection’s In-Home Assistance Program provides parents and guardians with a much-needed break while their children are safely cared for at home by another trusted caregiver of their choice. Parents can use this time to do other important tasks, in or away from home. This program is available for children under the age of 18 who reside in Dallas County, thanks to a generous grant from The Crystal Charity Ball.

Assistance in Your Own Home

Receive a voucher for up to $100 worth of in-home respite care per quarter.
